Megan Kelso was born in 1968 in Seattle,
Washington, where she lived for eighteen years and attended public school.
In 1986, she took two
months off before college to travel in Nicaragua. She lasted one semester at art school in Chicago
and eventually transferred to The Evergreen State College in Olympia, Washington, where she majored
in labor studies and economics. Kelso returned to Seattle after graduating in 1991, where she worked
for the Port of Seattle and the City of Bellevue. She currently works at home as a freelance
cartoonist and illustrator.
